It’s been a challenging year for all of us living with COVID-19. It’s impacted our businesses, clients, families, and friends. The escalated political discourse has added to the prolonged frustration and isolation. The run-up to tax season traditionally involves a certain frantic preparation. But, with 2020 having thrown myriad traditional expectations into disarray, it’s reasonable that we prepare a little differently for this tax season.

At my end, despite the challenges and illnesses that my family has faced, rest assured that I continue to have your back. The credentials, certification, and persistence I have enable me to deliver the highest level of service to each of my clients.

To comply with regulations related to COVID-19, I will continue to deliver financial and accounting services. If an in-person meeting is necessary, please visit the home page of my website (https://www.featchicago.com/) to schedule an appointment. Simply select the date and time, complete the short contact form and then click SEND. It’s that easy!

For those who prefer to exchange hard copies of their tax documents, my downtown office is open from 9:00am – 4:30pm for drop off and pickup. You can also fax your documents 24/7: (312) 346-9603. To ensure the safety of your data and to maintain strict compliance with industry and global security standards, Portal Safe is implemented for this tax filing season.

At your end, it is time for you to begin gathering your supporting tax documents to maximize your benefits on your 2020 tax returns. If you were eligible and you received the first and second rounds of your economic impact payment (EIP), no need for you to take any further action. If you were eligible and YOU DIDN’T receive your EIP, you will be able to claim it when you file your 2020 tax returns. If eligible, you will receive the Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC) on your individual tax return.

I won’t dwell on tax laws and regulation for this tax season; rather I will be happy to answer questions that each taxpayer may have. For now, I’ll bring to your attention the following: If you receive non-employee compensation (Form NEC), please include it with your tax documents. For this year, even if you are not going to itemize deductions, you still will be eligible to deduct up to $300 for cash contributions made during tax year 2020. Perhaps you and your friend and colleagues can benefit from my promotional offer for this tax season
